How Scroll To Rent handles visitor, letting-agent and property-listing information in the UK.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Scroll To Rent is the public-facing trading name of this rental-discovery and letting-agent listing service at www.scrolltorent.co.uk. The service is operated under the Scroll To Rent name. Privacy enquiries, data-access requests and complaints can be sent to info@scrolltorent.co.uk. The operator's formal legal identity and postal contact details have not yet been published on this page and should be confirmed before full commercial launch.

2. Personal information we collect

3. Why we use this information

We use data to create and authenticate accounts, confirm email addresses, review agency applications, allow agents to manage listings, present rental searches, maintain website security, respond to requests and comply with applicable law. We do not currently offer an online renter payment checkout.

4. Our lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering one for account and listing services; legitimate interests to operate, secure and improve the directory and display authorised agency listings; and legal obligations where law requires information to be retained or disclosed. Where a future optional feature specifically requires consent, we will request it before using it.

5. Who can see or receive data

Members of the public can see properties that are published as available, including the listing information and agent contact details supplied for public display. Draft properties and their photographs are stored in restricted areas. Limited-duration signed image links may remain usable until their expiry even if access conditions later change; downloading or caching a photograph may preserve a copy.

We use Supabase for account authentication, database and photograph storage and Vercel for website hosting. Account-confirmation and password-reset emails are delivered through the authentication email workflow. The website currently loads typefaces from Google Fonts; requesting them may reveal a visitor's IP address to the font provider. We may provide data to advisers, regulators or authorities where legally required.

6. Location of processing and international transfers

Our services may involve providers or infrastructure in the UK, the EEA or other countries. Where UK law requires safeguards for transfers outside the UK, the responsible operator must ensure an appropriate legal transfer mechanism is in place. Specific contractual safeguards should be reviewed as part of final compliance sign-off.

7. How long we keep information

We retain account and listing data while needed to provide the service, manage requests, resolve disputes, protect security and meet legal duties. When accounts or listings are removed, backups and technical logs may take additional time to expire. A detailed operational retention schedule has not yet been finalised and should be documented before commercial launch.

8. Your privacy rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to certain processing, or receive certain personal data in a portable format. You can request help using info@scrolltorent.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.

You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Rental search and voice input

Search words and filters are used to find matching rentals. Where supported, the browser's speech-recognition service may turn spoken words into text; the browser or device provider's privacy terms may apply. Scroll To Rent does not intentionally store uploaded voice recordings as property-search account data.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest published version. Significant changes will be communicated where required.
